Is V-Law licensed?
V-Law (http://www.v-law.com) is the internet domain name for my law office. I as an
attorney, am licensed to practice law. The attorney, not the office, is licensed. I am
licensed to practice law in the states of Washington and California, as well as the Federal
Courts. All attorneys, I work with are licensed in their respective states. If V-Law refers
you to an attorney, that attorney will be licensed in your jurisdiction.
Does V-Law work with other attorneys?
Yes, I work with a number of attorneys and law firms in Seattle, Los Angeles, Buffalo
as well as overseas. In addition, I work with non-lawyers such as accountants, systems
analysts, programers, graphic artist, insurance brokers, sound contrctors, sound
designers, software and hardware consultants. I have established a network and strive to
be able to refer or provide a full range of business and legal services for my clients. If
you are interested in being a referal source submit your resume.
Is V-Law more than a just law office?
We hope so. Our goal is to provide full business and legal services to our clients. We
strive to meet their needs and have qualified key professional on call to advise and serve
them. We encourge our clients to call us and ask if they have a question or a problem. We
may already have the answer or we may already know where you can find the solution. We
feel that this ready availability of multi-discipline specialists is one of our most
valuable services.
I have a legal problem. Can your advise me?
I am licensed to practice law in Washington and California. If you are not in those states
then I can only advise you on general legal principles. I cannot advise you on your
specific state laws, the strength of your legal position or what legal tactic you should
undertake. These evaluations and decisions should be made by an attorney licensed in your
state. We will be glad to refer you to a local attorney if we know an attorney in your
area.

Can you help on enviormental issues?
I have a good deal of practical experience dealing with enviormental issues from both
sides of the issues. It depends upon where your are and what you mean by help?
If you are in California I can assist or refer you to experienced attorneys who handle
CEQA and development issues. (note this is not limited to opponents - I have worked with
developers quite successfully.) If you are in Washington contact me. If you are elsewhere
I may be able provide general guidance and advice.

them.
Does V-Law handle DUI, Drunk Driving, or Drug cases?
My practice is limited to civil and business matters, so I personally do not but we have a
number of attorneys who work with the V-Law who, we will be glad to refer you to.
Where can V-Law represent me?
I am licensed in the states of Washington and California. If you are located in either
state, I can represent you and appear before the court. If you are located in another
state, I can not represent you in your state court unless granted permission by the local
court. I normally will advise you to retain a local attorney if you are in civil
litigation. Generally hiring an out of town attorney is not the best tactic nor is it cost
effective. If I can recommend a local attorney I will be glad to do so.

Do you know the laws of each and every state?
No, we do not. Each state is a separate legal system with its own laws and rules.
Therefore, if your matter involves a specific question about the title to real property,
child custody, a dissolution (divorce), a criminal matter, or the probate of an estate we
will advise you to retain a local attorney. If your questions is general in nature we can
tell you the general legal principles and law that apply. For example, if you live in
Oregon I cannot advise whether your house is community property under Oregon law. We can
tell you the general rules of community property and how it would be classified in
Washington or California. However you will need to see an attorney licensed in Oregon to
advise you on your home in Oregon and to represent in the Oregon Court.
Can V-Law draft a will for me?
Yes if you are in Washington or California. If you are in another state we can provide
you with a "Form Will" which we will tailor to your situation. The "Form
Will" meets the requirements of Washington and California. We draft our documents to
exceed the most strict requirements therefore it should meet most local laws. However,
since a will is a very important document, you should have the "Form Will" reviewed by your local attorney before you personalize and execute it.
See Drafting Contracts and Documents.
Can you draft a contract for me?
Certainly. The vast majority of states have adopted the Uniform Commercial Code in
substantially the same form. Therefore the laws governing contracts covered by the UCC
generally do not differ substantially. V-Law will provide you with a "Standard Form
Contract" which you may use as a model in your business. We recommend you have the
"Standard Form Contract" reviewed by your local attorney before you use it in
your business if you are outside Washington or California.

Why do you do business consulting?
Because I enjoy business and the challanges it brings. Finding profitable solutions to
a complex problem involving people, money and time constraints can be very challenging. I
started out in business and already had my MBA in finance when I went to law school.

Certainly - Have Legal Pad, Will Travel - Send ticket and expenses and I'm
